Property description

Standing alone in a beautiful rural setting in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, this extremely spacious Victorian farmhouse enjoys its own landscaped grounds - commanding sweeping southerly views over arable farmland and woodland to the Vale of Pickering and the North Yorkshire Wolds beyond. Furnished and equipped to the E.T.C. `4 Star' standard, it boasts original period features, quality furnishings and tasteful décor. Adjoining this well-equipped farmhouse is Dalby Forest - well-noted for its lovely drives, walks and picnic sites, with the eroded scenery of Bridestones and the waterfowl centre also close by. Within the surrounding area is a wealth of attractions, interesting villages and towns, and a good range of activities. The walled city of York is just 22miles away, with its magnificent minster and excellent shopping facilities, and for further religious relics, Reivaulx and Byland abbeys are accessible. Captain Cook's old port, Whitby (16miles), can be reached by way of a scenic drive through `Herriot' countryside. Flamingoland Theme Park and zoo (5miles). Resorts along the East coast worth visiting include Scarborough, Sandsend, Filey and Robin Hoods Bay. Closer to home, a ride on Pickering's steam train (part of the location for TV's Heartbeat and the original Harry Potter film) is one of the best ways of taking in this picturesque valley's scenery. Golf, fishing and bike hire available locally. Pub/restaurant 1mile.
