Working Experience:

December 2003 To Present:

Employed as a Technical Manager - working on the interworking of HiPath 3000 systems and HG1500 VoIP V1, V2,V3 & V5, Xpressions Unified Messaging 450 with Windows Server 2000 & 2003 & Quality Check of installs ,technical writing for manuals & training of new & current engineers. Also 1st line support on Definity Systems for Lloyds - and helping on installation of all systems as needed as well as troubleshooting & testing of new systems & ideas.


August 1999 To December 2003:

Promoted to Service & IT manager at Lloyds running the web sites & IT & Service Depts & CTI applications for Lloyds as well as special fault investigations & services abroad - noticeably installing a HiPath system with DECT CMI , Call logging & further admin training on the MY Samax in Majorca & Malta Nov. 2001 & Aug 2002.

August 1997 To August 1999 :

Joined Lloyds Business Communications in Salford as Senior Engineer. Specialising in Lucent Avaya Definity , Siemens Hicom 150e & 112/8 & HiPath Office & 3000 & VoIP Solutions & CTI/IT developments , also attended Nitsuko DXE install & programming course.

April 1997 To August 1997 :

Promoted to Engineering Supervisor & Integration Engineer , Working in the CTI between Novell / NT & Unix server connections between PC’s & Pabx’s and deputising for the Engineering Director

September 1996 :

Joined Digitel Europe Ltd, Wirral, as a Service Technician installing & servicing Key & Pabx systems, pagers, MOH, Voice Mail, P.A. systems & associated kit.

July 1996 To September 1996 :

Contract work for Personal Service Society training managers and staff in the advanced use of MS Office products - Word 6, Excel 5, Powerpoint and Access 2.


September 1994 To July 1996 :

Left British Telecom , joined Camelot PLC as part of The National Lottery Project.
Installed Novell Networks, PC setup & configure, WAN/LAN links & maintained ISTDX Pabx, telephones, ACD turrets & system & X.25 links, User support & Helpdesk facilities.

February 1994 To September 1994 :

I was employed in BT Datacom Control, managing 20 Engineers in the south of England. Duties include customer liason, Tech Support, BS5070 Quality Control, Stores Ordering & Fault Distribution & Escalation.

August 1993 To February 1994 :

I worked on the I.T. contract BT supplied to the DSS/CPA & Other business's looking after vdu's PC's & printers, down to board level repairs, as well as the LAN connecting them, and software installation & config.

December 1992 To August 1993 :

I was employed to work on Maintenance & Installation of High Order Datacomms Multiplexes for BT & its Customers.

December 1987 To December 1992 :

Transferred to BT Computer Operations Group due to promotion to Technical Officer
I worked as part of a team of 12, planning, installing, maintaining & configuring the networks & peripherals connected to them as part of BT's internal computer department. Worked as part of the Helpdesk & Network control team. The networks were DOS/Windows IBM SNA & PC & DEC VAX & X25 PADs, Multiplexes, LAN/WAN ,SUMP/MUMP, ICL DRS. Helpdesk & IT Support duties were also involved using PROFS , NETView SNA & Timeplex DM7500.

December 1982 :

Completed BT apprenticeship , worked as a Frame Management & Strowger technician for 5 years in TXS, TXK & TXE4a . This is were I gained useful experience in dealing with customers, understanding deadlines, operating computers & VDUs & working as part of a team.

July 1980 :

Started work as an Apprentice Technician with British Telecom , working on installation, business systems, jointing & overhead working, exchange construction & maintenance.

Interests :

Photography & Darkroom, Amateur Radio & Computing, Model Aircraft flying & building, Rugby & Table Tennis, DTP designing , web design & programming in C++ , VB & Javascript & Linux and I also organise Pop & Trivia quiz's for local charities & pubs,.
